Accounting Agent Platform

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 17, 2026

This policy explains how [Company legal name] handles personal information on Accounting Agent Platform.

Who we are

[Company legal name] operates Accounting Agent Platform at https://accounting-agent-platform.vercel.app. We are a small startup based in the United States. This policy covers the website, accounts, the learner waitlist, simulations, public profiles, credentials, cohorts, and payments.

Information we collect

  • Account. Clerk provides sign-in. We store your name, email address, Clerk identifier, and whether the account is a learner or a firm.
  • Profile. Headline, short bio, skills, and whether the profile is public.
  • Learning. Lesson progress, quiz answers and scores, simulation submissions, scores, and the times you worked on them.
  • Reviews. Approved reviewer firms grade learner work and record a review.
  • Hiring. Open roles a firm posts, applications to those roles, a firm's interest in a learner (including a private note), and seats in a cohort a firm runs.
  • Waitlist. If you join the learner waitlist, we store the name and email address you submit.
  • Payments. Stripe processes the pilot cohort seat, subscriptions, extra job posts, and the customer portal. We store Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, the plan, the status, and the period dates. We do not store card numbers.
  • Technical. The host and the database keep the product running. Servers may log an IP address, browser, and request time as part of ordinary hosting.

How we use information

  • Run accounts, simulations, scoring, credentials, and profiles.
  • Let approved reviewer firms grade learner work.
  • Let a firm verify a credential.
  • Show open roles, and show firms the talent a learner has made public.
  • Show a firm a learner's email and simulation submissions after that learner applies to the firm's role or joins a cohort that firm runs.
  • Take payment, prevent abuse, and keep the service secure.
  • Send a practice-scenario request to OpenAI when scenario generation is used. That request is not your card number and it is not the waitlist.
  • Manage the waitlist and cohort invitations.
  • Meet legal duties, including records that tax or accounting rules require for payments.

We do not sell your personal information.

What is public and what stays private

When a learner turns a profile on, the public page can show their name, headline, bio, skills, the learning progress the profile includes, simulation titles, completion, review status, scores, and certificates they have earned.

Public profiles never show email addresses, payment details, raw submissions, or private notes. A public credential page at /credentials/[id] shows only the learner's name, the credential type, the issued date, and the status. It does not show an email address, payment details, raw submissions, or private notes. Open roles show the job a firm marked open. They do not show the firm's email address.

Account email, Clerk identifiers, payment records, raw simulation submissions, quiz answers, firm-interest notes, and admin notes on leads stay private.

Sharing with firms

A firm can see what a learner makes public on a profile, and a firm can verify a credential. Verification shows the name, credential type, issued date, and status. A firm sees the learner's email and simulation submissions only after that learner applies to the firm's role or joins a cohort that firm runs. Approved reviewer firms review the learner work they are allowed to grade. We do not give firms payment details through public pages, and we do not share waitlist entries with firms.

Processors

We use other companies to run the service. They process information for that purpose:

  • Clerk, for authentication and the account session.
  • Stripe, for payments. Card numbers stay with Stripe.
  • Neon, for the hosted database.
  • Vercel, for hosting.
  • OpenAI, for generating practice scenarios.

Cookies

We use essential cookies and similar storage so Clerk can keep you signed in and keep the session secure. We do not use advertising cookies. If you block those essential cookies, sign-in will not work.

Retention

We keep account, learning, review, and billing records while the account is open, and longer when we need them for security, a dispute, or a legal duty such as a tax record. You can ask us to delete the account. We will delete or de-identify personal information we no longer need to keep. Stripe and Clerk may keep their own records under their policies. A waitlist entry stays until we delete it or you ask us to remove it.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. You can also update your profile in the product, and you can cancel a paid plan in the Stripe Customer Portal. We may need to confirm that you control the account before we act on a request.

Children

The service is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe someone under 18 has created an account, email us and we will delete it.

Security

We rely on access controls, a hosted database, and encrypted connections from the processors above. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure. Use a strong password on the Clerk account and do not share it.

Changes

We may update this policy. The last updated date on this page will change when we do. The current date is October 17, 2026. If you keep using the service after an update, the new policy applies.
